glare
Okay, this was funny, but the joke of having stupid kids going "arf!" or "woof!" every time I walk by passed its expiration date very quickly.
However, I wouldn't mind it so much if one of those stupid kids didn't happen to be my sister. What's she doing hanging out with a group of Slytherins? She's a Ravenclaw, for goodness' sake, and a Muggle-born! I thought they were meant to despise Muggle-borns.

This reminds me of a message my mother told me to give to everybody in Letty's house who is in a position of power, like Cho Chang or Roger Davies: if you ever see my sister behaving badly, my family grants you permission to give her a clip across the ear. Since Letty is in Ravenclaw it's a bit hard for me and Luke to act as Mum's replacement (and I doubt she'd accept our authority).

Private to Katie and Angelina:
I know we're still in mid-November, but since I make a point of making my own Christmas gifts instead of buying them (not having enough money is a bitch), and lack of time meant that I was only able to finish some of them after the holidays in the past (by the way, sorry Ange!) I've decided to start things early this year.
Anyway, I'm planning to do a dress for Alicia, but I need her measurements. Can you give me a hand on this - and make sure she won't suspect anything? Now that those cows have called her fat I'm sure she's feeling extra self-conscious so I understand how difficult this might be...

You almost make me glad my brothers are older. Perhaps the solution is to not have siblings at all?

Private to Leanne and Ange

That's cool that you're making your gifts! I don't think I'd ever be creative enough to do something like that. People would end up with colourful drawings that look like they were drawn by three-year-olds and the like.

Oh! I have an idea for how to get Alicia's measurements! My eldest brother just got engaged and I'm sure he'll ask Alicia to be a bridesmaid (the boys think of her as the sensible little sister they don't have to worry about because she's not as twitty as me.) Though, there is a chance after this week she'll never believe anything I say ever again...

No siblings sounds wonderful. I only have one older brother, thank heavens - but, on the other hand, there's the four little 'uns, who are the human equivalent to hurricanes.

Private to Katie and Angelina:
Colourful drawings are great! At least, I like them.

That's a great idea! But... why won't she believe you?

We could kill them all off? Or send them to Siberia?

Private to Leanne and Ange
I'll make sure to enclose one with your gift then!

Well.... um... Lucy Montgomery and I might have tricked her and Chris Summerby into meeting in the kitchens....

Better send them to some resort in the South Pacific. That way, they'll be so warm and comfortable they'll never want to come back.
Or better yet, we'll go to the resort and they can stay here instead.

Private to Katie and Angelina:
Yay, thanks!

Oh dear. I can see why she'd become suspicious... Have they met there yet?

Yes! Let's leave tomorrow!

Private to Leanne and Ange

We asked them to meet us in the kitchens on Thursday evening so presumably yes. But I haven't heard anything from Ali (which may of may not mean she's not speaking to me.)

Yay! I'll go pack my things, then.

Private to Katie and Angelina:
I'm sure she'll still speak to you. Even if she's mad, she won't stay that way for long.

I'm sorry to hear that, Leanne. If I see her around I'll have a word with her, though I'm not of the habit of clipping anyone about the ear. And I'll keep an eye out for any Slytherins who may be barking whenever you walk past, too. Good luck with that.

Thanks, Roger. I think I can handle the kids, annoying as this might be, since they'll shut up quickly if I pretend to laugh at their attempts to be funny.
Letty, however, if a different matter, as it's harder to ignore or pretend not to care when my own sister is doing this. But don't worry, I don't think my mother expects anyone to actually clip her kids about the ear; she believes that this sort of messages she likes to give to teachers and prefects can work better than any punishment.

Ugh. I know what it's like to have a sister who acts stupidly.

Tell me about it. Ah well, I'm sure Letty will grow out of it soon - she's probably still dazed about being at Hogwarts.
